In partnership with the Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship and the Zinn Starter Program, our accelerator gives teams mentorship, access to our resources, and an open work space in the IDEA Lab! 


FAQ's

What is the IDEAS Accelerator Program? Our curriculum focuses on providing the essential components to take their projects to the next stage, whether it be creating your prototype or meeting investors. The end-goal of the program is for IDEAS teams to win startup competitions. At the end of the semester, we will select teams to be funded by the Zinn Starter Program.

What is the Zinn Starter Program? The program is sponsored by Ray Zinn, founder of Micrel. Students will be in charge of managing the $10,000 and distributing it out the the applicants. Funding will be distributed to top teams during the first week of February 2018. You can learn more about Ray Zinn here: http://toughthingsfirst.com/.

When do I need to apply? Applications to join the teams are available on a rolling basis till November 30th, 2017

Who can join? In order to apply, teams have to be at least at the prototype stage of their project. However, ALL members must be SJSU students to receive funding from the Zinn Starter Program. 

What should I have before I apply? You will need to provide a file explaining your project. It can be a business plan, pitch deck, or even a quick MS Paint diagram – anything that helps us to understand your idea.

I want to apply, but I don't have any team members. You don't need any team members to apply. We will do our best to find you co-founders.
